Home Theater Project - Singapore

Initially a dining room turned to simple music room, with some build in valves speakers and a Denon CD player... this is the room that's going to be done up..

Cleared off all the furniture while sorting out the details with the contractors... also took the time to decide on speakers as the contractor need the measurement of the 4 rear surround speakers (wanted the panel to fit nicely with the speakers, see below)

Striped off all the fittings in the room, installed a wooden enclosure which concealed all the cables running to the rear. At this stage, it's much easier to see the enclosure (beech color) before it got painted over, as seen below.

Painted the entire room... decided to paint the front wall grey in order to avoid any unwanted reflections from the projector. Planned to paint the ceiling grey too but scrapped that idea later as it would look terrible, especially with the ceiling's light. The wooden panel (that conceals those cables) is done in a way to blend in to the original design of the ceiling.

Left 3" space to reach into the cables, in case the need to change any cables running to the rear speakers and projector.

Front side/below screen been arranged to give more flexibility in cable arrangement.

Got the projector in placed and hook up all the surround speakers.

Projector: Sharp XV-12000
Rear Spk: JBL North Bridge E10CH

Sorted out all the cables, all video and speaker cables are measured accordingly and installed while trying to minimize any sight of cables tangling around.

Screen not arrived yet.

Main and center speakers arrived. Delayed due to no stock. The Stewart GreyHawk came almost the same time.

Main: JBL North Bridge E90CH
Center: JBL North Bridge EC35CH

Had the curtain installed, with complete black-out. Behind the curtains is a sliding door ensuring no one else can hear much even you blast it up. Windows on the right is covered with the same curtain as well. (not shown)

By the way, as seen in the pic.. there's a attached toilet for this room... so no long pause in any movie.

Got the screen up, all 7 speakers in positions.
.... but no Amp and Sub yet!!!

So until then, we will be using the stereo valves speakers.

Finally the RX-V2500 arrived, and got a GIEC DVD player from Hong Kong. Add in a nice thick carpet from IKEA and it's almost all done.

The REL Sunfire came in and everything now is 99% complete.

Whole room lighting is control via the Philips Pronto where the receiving side is managed by Marmitek.

What left is to get the Pronto Pro programmed and it's all set to the DVD shop!!
